On the KM network everyone can buy your GSM phone from most suppliers (see the list of online suppliers below for some examples). Do be careful to ensure the phone is not locked into another network that forces you to pay expensive roaming costs.

Local First Nation KM administration offices also carry a limited number of phones that you can purchase and start using immedicately once you pay for the phone and your minutes for the Pay-As-You-Go service. This way, you know exactly how much you’re spending.

Because all KM phones are unlocked, you can use your phone on any GSM network in the world just by changing the SIM card in the back of the phone.

You can pick a phone from the newest, coolest phones from Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Motorola, and LG. GSM phones come with camera phones, MP3 phones, text messages ... all the latest features. They range from $40 and up, depending on what features you are looking for in your phone.

If you purchase a phone from somewhere other than your Community Partner then there is a risk that all of the features on the phone may not work as advertised. It is the owners responsibility to get the phone working if it is purchased from somewhere else.
